Emotional Freedom Technique is based on the ancient art of acupuncture, tapping on the face and body where the acupuncturist would put needles. Meridians are energy circuits running through our body. EFT breaks through the congestion in our circuitry, clearing out conflict to help us relax and handle emotional conflict as well as relieve physical conditions.
EFT is based on the theory that all pain and negative emotions (cravings, anxiety, fear, phobias, childhood traumas, addiction, anger, depression, etc.) are related to disturbance to the body’s energy system that eventually affects our immune system and contributes to pain, disease and physical breakdown. EFT treats body, mind and spirit as a whole.
EFT is a simple but extremely effective technique, the basics of which can easily be learned by teacher, parent and child. It can be introduced to the child as ‘a new relaxation technique.’ EFT is ideal for children as it is non-threatening, can be regarded as fun, and gives the child self-empowerment. Through EFT the child learns that no matter what emotion they are feeling, it is always valid; and there is always something they can do to help themselves, instantly. The solution is literally at the tips of their own fingers.
Using EFT equips you, the parent, to tackle your child’s concerns as and when you see them arising. Imagine being able to head off the effects of certain situations that, unaddressed, could later affect your child’s confidence, performance and well-being.
Below are just some of the emotional/physical issues that can result in ANGER, FEAR and UNHAPPINESS for children, ultimately affecting a child’s educational performance and general well-being. EFT can be used to address all of the following issues.
EFT produces surprisingly quick results, but the results are even faster with children (who are yet to develop the more guarded cynicism of adults!). Children are naturally more:
Learning EFT is easy and, amazingly, many issues can be resolved in a single or just a few DIY sessions.
Some issues, however, may have a deeper emotional root and it is advisable to seek the help of a qualified practitioner trained in the more sophisticated uses of the technique.
